Julio Hernandez-Castro gives expert opinion on TV

Meridian TV interviewed Lecturer Julio Hernandez-Castro on 16 May.

He spoke about cyber security following two recent attacks by hackers based in the southeast.

Lewys Martin infiltrated the Kent Police website and has been jailed for two years. Maidstone Crown Court had heard that was trying to impress fellow hackers.

In an unrelated case a hacker from South Essex has admitted breaking into the US air force computers at the Pentagon.

Reporter Sangeeta Bhabra spoke to cyber security expert Dr Julio Hernadez-Castro from the School of Computing about the threat to society from cyber crime in the future.
