It was hard to find the words: New research published

The second paper arising from research in the Families and IoT project has been published. "“It was hard to find the words”: Using an Autoethnographic Diary Study to Understand the Difficulties of Smart Home Cyber Security Practices" was accepted as a case study at the ACM CHI Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems (CHI) in May 2022.

The paper arose in part as a result of considering prior research methods used in engaging participants in relation to Internet of Things use and cybersecurity. Sarah performed and autoethnography to understand how important cyber security was in her (and her family's) lives - or not. The findings have informed the way the Families and IoT project has been taken forward.
